Did You Tremble With the Shepherds?

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
—Luke 2: 8-14

Did You Tremble With the Shepherds?

Did you tremble with the shepherds?
Did you hear the angels sing?
Did you travel with the wise men?
Did you find the Christ, your King?

Did you see the star of Glory
By Intelligent Design?
Were you drawn to seek the Truth, sir?
Tell me then....Who did you find?

Born to mankind in a manger,
To a virgin as foretold,
Born, the spotless Lamb from Heaven,
Calling sinners to the fold.

Born impoverished as a servant,
Born to lead and be The Way,
Born to us the King of Glory,
Mending broken jars of clay.

Born true Light into the darkness,
Born to give the blinded sight,
Born to call the poor in spirit,
Born to lift up those contrite.

Born to comfort all in mourning,
Born to us, Emmanuel,
Poured out Mercy for the thirsty,
Living Water at the well.

Born to be The Door to Heaven,
Born to make the wretched clean,
Born a Priest and born a Prophet,
Born to be our Go-Between.

Born fulfilling all the prophets,
Born to take the sinner’s place,
Born to die for our transgressions…
Gift from God… Amazing Grace.

Born to bridge the gap forever,
Born to close the great divide,
Born to seek no idol lover,
Born to find His Faithful Bride.

Born to sow the seed for Harvest,
Born to seek and find the lost…
Just in Time for man’s redemption,
Born to die upon a Cross.
