“Deconstructionist Logic” is a philosophical oxymoron…a living, breathing contradiction in terms. Tragically, it is increasingly the go-to, default philosophical paradigm for much of the Secular Intellectual Caste in the western world today, and, like a colorless and odorless poisonous gas, it has seeped into every aspect and area of our lives. From our children’s classrooms to the nightly news, from the Hollywood silver screen to the pulpits in our churches, the mind and spirit-numbing fog of post-modernist (Po-Mo) Deconstructionist “logic” is everywhere. It’s not just in the cloistered Ivory Towers and rarified air of academic “higher education” anymore.
Philosopher Roger Kimball has recently observed:
“Deconstructive themes and presuppositions have increasingly become part of the general intellectual atmosphere: absorbed to such an extent that they float almost unnoticed, part of the ambient spiritual pollution of our time.”
And these themes have taken their toll.
Deconstruction’s calling card is The Question Mark. Meaninglessness is its message, and pointlessness is its bottom line. Its nihilistic, conscience-searing fruit tastes sweet at first but inevitably turns despairingly bitter…..
The Deconstructionist declares that “truth”… (if, indeed, truth exists at all)… is essentially unattainable and unknowable. Everything, you see, is “perspective”, but there is no “true perspective”…
Ironically, the Deconstructionist is likely to claim that this…(ahem)…” profound” insight is obviously and unassailably true.
