And So We Hide Behind the Pride

“The heavens declare the glory of God;

their word to the ends of the world.”

“And So We Hide Behind the Pride”

We think it odd all life’s from God,
Such talk leaves us unnerved!
Instead we flee to fantasy…
Our common sense deferred.

We lift our sight into the night,
There endless majesties;
We shrug as dead, retire to bed,
To fitful reveries.

We dodge, we fake but just can’t shake
The Truth we know is there…
And so we hide behind the Pride,
Our Sin beyond compare.

The Word we’ve heard leaves us unstirred…
Our hearts remain obtuse;
We toss, we turn…We never learn,
Mankind….. without excuse.

Our hearts don’t fear the God Who’s near,
And from whom blessings flow….
True Truth defied, true God denied….
Until that rooster crows.
