May Our Hearts Be Made More Tinder

May Our Hearts Be Made More Tinder
(Holy Spirit, Be the Spark)

Give us hearts to sense your Glory,
Give us Grace to know The Way.
Give us minds to seek the Reason
Why this light is on display.

Help us question “Why this evil?”
Even more so: ”Why this Good?”
Help us ask the vital questions:…
Why there’s “ought” and why there’s “should”.

May we wonder why there’s wonder,
May we question why we’re here…
May we knock to seek the answer,
And in asking, be sincere.

May we wonder at the darkness,
Why we see the world’s defiled…
Why this pain, this death and sorrow,
May we ask as would a child.

May we set aside excuses…
Pride that keeps us in the dark.
May our hearts be made more tinder,
Holy Spirit, be the spark.
