Happy’s Now Our Main Objective

Everybody’s chasing Happy.

Happy seems to be “The Thing”.

Yes, Proud Pleasure is the treasure

That keeps challenging The King.

It’s a temporal endeavor…

Just like clock-work…going strong.

Adam chased it in the Garden,

And we’ve followed right along.

It’s what everybody’s after,

Here beneath the noonday sun.

It’s a vapor…just a shadow,

After all is said and done.

“Happy”’s now our main objective.

Self-fulfillment is our aim.

Just in time, is when we’ll get there.

It’s the Golden Calf we claim.

Will these vanities that rule us

Have the final say, my friend?

Will these fleeting satisfactions

Satisfy us in the end?

As Forever fast approaches,

Will we have the time to turn?

Will the pleasures we now treasure

Be our Number One concern?

Will we simply come up empty

When these days just fade away?

Will the darkness just engulf us?

Will death have the final say?

Will “The Pleasure” hounds keep sniffing

After Satan’s Calves of Gold1?

Will the search keep on progressing?

Will we buy the Lie he sold?

Will the foolish keep pursuing

All these baubles that we see?

Will Eternal Truth arrest us?

Will God’s Grace provide the key?
