“But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.”- Hebrews 2: 9-11

Were you made a man among us?
Were the prophets proven true?
Son of man, the second Adam…
What did you come here to do?
Did this Grace come down from heaven?
Could this Grace bring peace to man?
Was this Grace planned by the Father
Long before the world began?
* * *
Were you, Lord, below the angels
For a time and place like this?
Were you able to be sinless?
How on earth did you resist!?
Did you recognize the danger?
Did you fathom the disdain?
Was your mission here perfected
Through the suffering and pain?
Did you know what was awaiting?
O, Good God, were you aware?
Did you see your own death coming?
Why on earth should you have cared?
Give us Grace to understand it!
Did you really come to die?
Give us Faith to trust the answer…
And to know exactly why.
Give us eyes to see the Light, Lord.
Give us Grace to know what’s true!
Dawn, break through night’s mourning spirit,
Cover us like morning dew2.

Was God’s Glory manifested…?
Was God’s Righteousness displayed
When He bled and died for sinners
On that predetermined day?
Perfect Justice, perfect Mercy…
Did you, Jesus, count the cost?
Was true Holy Love revealed there
When you fought to gain the Cross?
