The Bible teaches that the church will face challenging periods of willful self-delusion, and if she is not wary and alert…if she’s not discerning,… she will lose sight of her divinely inspired calling. The hard, emphatic truth of mankind’s desperate, fallen condition and need for repentance and faith in Christ will be threatened by the enticing pronouncements of the currently popular secular philosophies (and delusions) of man. We are experiencing such period now. The erosion of truth has in far too many cases called into question the most basic, time-tested of Christian doctrines and has left a lukewarm and hopeless spiritual puddle on the floor. We are discovering that the enemies of the church are more than happy to mop up the embarrassing spill and wring it out into the world for all to see. The personal and cultural results have been tragic.
Somewhere between Woodstock, Hollywood and the flashing light churches ….things have gone terribly wrong.

Fingers Crossed, We’re Speculating
(That This Universe is “Fair”)
We’ve got hope that hope has meaning,
We have hope all’s not despair.
Fingers crossed we’re speculating
That this universe is “fair”.
We’ve been brought up by Big Brother
Schooled by Naturalism’s Rule.
If by Chance there may be purpose,
In the end, we hope it’s “cool”.
We hope somehow all this matters.
We hope justice, friend, is real.
If there IS a “truth” worth seeking,
We just hope it’s how we “feel”.
We hope there’s no god who’s out there
Seeing all our hidden ways.
If “god” is, we hope she’s friendly,
Smiling in some Happy Daze.
We have faith this hope we’re hoping
Is enough to get us by.
It’s this faith in hope we’re trusting.
We just hope it’s not a lie.
