“Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What did we do when we unchained the earth from its sun?”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (“Thus Spake Zarathustra”)
Take the Sponge of Deconstruction,
Son, just wipe away the sky!
Never mind the consequences…
Never bother to ask “Why?”
Well over a century ago, Friedrich Nietzsche recognized the metaphysical writing on the wall. He was ahead of his time. Today his dark, prophetic vision is rapidly unfolding before us.
Nietzsche's vision has a new name today: Post-Modern Deconstructionism,... a fruitless, truthless, and ruthless philosophical paradigm, indeed. Its “bottom line” proudly declares that there is no Bottom Line at all. All traditional, unifying categories of reality, order, virtue, right, and reason are being shattered into meaningless, psycho-illogical smithereens in its despairing and disparaging wake.
Nietzsche’s nihilism is in full, self-destructive, chaotic “bloom”.
His Zarathustra saw it coming…..
One contemporary theologian has observed that once the “categories of identity are [declared] merely psychological and that reality is constituted by language”1 (ie., the deconstructionist’s main meme), we have, indeed, become “unchained”.
“Those who accept its premises and yet seek to curb its power according to their own tastes are merely so many desperate postmodern[s]… shouting impotently at the relentless waves of ecstatic nihilism that are even now crashing against the shore.”
—Carl R. Trueman
This is where grim Fairy Tale and WonderLand intersect with,... and then are swallowed up by..., hopeless nightmare.
Watch the Real and True receding,
In the dark Post-Modern mist…
Where the Tribe of Dissolution's
Ruled by dim immoralists.
Here’s where Mr. Dumpty’s reigning,
Here the floodgates open wide...
Here the Hatter just gets Madder,
And there’s no "Safe Place" to hide.
It's the fruit of Nietzsche's Notion,
In the world of "Let's Pretend!"
It's delusion at its darkest,
Where the Light of Truth offends.
Yes, it’s Zarathustra’s Tarpit
In the NeverLand of Pan.
It’s where Lost Boys are exalted,
And the devil’s in command.
Give us Grace to see the beauty,
Lord, of what You’ve said and done.
Why the Light dawned in the darkness…
Father, help us see the Son.
Lord, you’ve given us the Promise
Yes, despite our broken loss….
Give us Light to know The Way now
To the Anchor of the Cross2.
“When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee. Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
“Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles—
the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.”—Matthew 4: 12-16
