Malcolm Muggeridge recognized that modern/contemporary western civilization, so persistently and stubbornly oblivious to the reality of fallen human nature, and unhinged from the principles and moral constraints of a firm, foundational Judeo-Christian ethic and worldview, would eventually unravel, pull apart at the seams and self-destruct.
He could see that the once-envisioned, God-oriented, virtuous goal of the “pursuit of happiness” was spiraling perversely downward into an ever-deepening, Self-centered, delusional pit, …a very dark pit characterized by the Self-absorbed Pursuit of Pleasure.

After abortion became “legal” in England and the U.S., Muggeridge saw more clearly than ever that we in the west were “sleepwalking into our own Gulag” while, at the same time, proudly calling this advancing culture of death “progress”…….

Into Nihilistic Knots.
It’s The Darwin-thing we’re into,
Lookin’ out for Number One!
Selfish Greed feeds Idol Pleasure,
We’re the fittest havin’ fun!
We’re not into inconvenience…
We toss tiny lives aside,
“Bigger-Stronger”’s what we’re pushing.
Evolution’s rising tide!

Now it’s what we teach the children
From the very, very start:
“Trust in Darwin and Big Brother”…
“Put the horse before the cart.”
It’s the bread of death we’re serving,
Puffed-up proudly, laced with yeast.
It’s a mouthful…Yes, Progressive,…
It’s the nature of The Beast.
Father God, have mercy on us!
Shine the Light of Grace again,
Tear apart this veil of darkness…
Help us recognize our sin.
Help us see again what’s missing…
Help us see, Lord, what’s been lost.
Help us see again this Jesus,
Take us back, Lord, to the Cross.

What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;

Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
