The Bible teaches that the spirit of antichrist has had a long, active, and deadly record throughout human history. In the second chapter of the Book of Revelation, one particularly pernicious carrier of that spirit (a woman named Jezebel) is identified. The Lord rebukes the church at Thyatira for tolerating this false teacher and her seductive brand of spiritual deception (ie., sexual immorality). The Lord calls out the false “prophetess”( Jezebel) and calls her to repentance.
I’m afraid that the politically correct church of today would tolerate neither the Lord nor his judgmental pronouncement regarding Ms. Jezebel. I am convinced that the progressively enlightened , contemporary church would, on the contrary, single out the Son of God… (with eyes like a flame of fire)…. for disdainful, rebuke and reprimand. At the same time, the “enlightened” (ie., apostate) church of today would give the “prophetess” Jezebel (and her infamous spirit guide) a great big compassionate hug.
Needless to say….this is not a good sign.
The spirit of rebellion has been around for millennia, and it is in powerful resurgence today both outside and from within the church, the body and Bride of Christ.

Lord, forgive us for not seeing,
What’s been right before our eyes!
Lord, forgive us for believing
Satan’s “gospel” full of lies.
Help us see the implications,
And dispel this Jezebel…
Take us to the Cross of Calv’ry,
Help us, Lord, the Truth to tell.
May we find there true repentance,
Help our idol-eyes to close,
